Happy Birthday Hubby!

May 28th was Tony's birthday.  He had to work (like most adults) on his birthday, but I made him a special breakfast and a cake.  Monica has been sick the past couple days so he spent the rest of his time at home giving her special attention.  He truly puts us first which is just one of the many reasons I love him and am grateful for his birth.

Here are some pictures and video proof of the precious moments that make me love him even more.  Happy Birthday husband!  I look forward to celebrating so many birthdays with you that you actually ARE old instead of just thinking you are.

Precious Moments

Monica turned 14 months on May 8th.  She is a busy little bee, always a movin'!  She has taken a couple steps here and there, but mainly still walks holding onto fingers.  She's added please, thank you, drink and wash hands to her signing repertoire and, as for speaking, the only thing she added is "woof." :)  She loves to climb, goes up and down the kiddy slides by herself and climbs our stairs and coffee table like she's been doing it for years.  She's playing peekaboo a lot and rides her plastic rocking horse like a wild woman circus performer.  We're trying to get a good video of this with all her "moves."   The biggest change from my perspective is even though she isn't talking, she understands so much.  We've already started spelling things when we don't want her to know what we're talking about!

Her favorite play place right now is the front porch.  "Let me out, let me out!"

This is her perch as I call it.  A little lip on the porch where she likes to sit.

She's playing peekaboo from the porch.

Wrestling with daddy.

We love our energizer bunny!

5 Reasons I'm Grateful . . .

We moved to New York.

(After reflecting on gratitude and a final push of inspiration from my friend Kristine's post on the subject I decided to start a weekly themed post on gratitude.)

1. I enjoy having four distinct seasons with the activities and weather each brings.  More sunny days doesn't hurt my attitude either. :o)

2. I LOVE getting to see my husband everyday.  Before our move, this was not our reality and I have already begun to take it for granted.

3. We are able to go on little long weekend trips which would otherwise be destination vacations.  So far we have visited Boston, NYC and Washington DC.  We are looking forward to exploring Philadelphia, Montreal and the New England area.

4.  I love my local YMCA!  It is the Hilton of Y's.  They offer pregnancy classes, classes that you can take your kids to and the normal gym facilities and classes.  The military provides free gyms on bases, but because this is such a small command there is no military gym, we get free admission to the Y, which is a double blessing.

5.  I have been blessed to meet wonderful people who have already helped me grow, encouraged and deepened my faith and just made me enjoy myself.  People enter our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime and I enjoy getting to know people for all three.
