Faces, Hair and Bouncers

She really likes the bouncer, happily hanging with mom in the kitchen.

Monica hasn't quite figured out which finger is the best so she just munches on all of them.

Umm, mom, I'm done with the photo session.

She woke up this way, thought it looked cool, so we kept it.
Yes, she's in the same outfit for a second day.

    Hello Darling,

The problem is not you. You are expressing righteous indignation and genuine concern for the people of God. The problem would be with you if you didn't mind the lukewarm Christianity that you describe.

You remember the parable about the three servants who were intrusted with talents by the master? The servant who buried his talent and let it sit without gain out of fear is the one who failed his master. God has entrusted us to our bishops. Most bishops in the Western World have let His Church sit without gain for the past fifty years and you have described the results. Those problems you described would not exist if they were as important to your bishop and his priests as they are to you. Please don't get mad at the people in the pews, they are conforming to their clergy like good Catholics. Most of them would conform to correct liturgy if they were told.

It is good and correct to act against what is wrong or incorrect. You have done so by your words and you did so when you were involved in liturgy. Now that you are temporarily not involved in liturgy you have no power to see that, at least a part of it, is done correctly. I know this is frustrating.

So what to do? You are constantly being presented with things and people to pray for. Let the distractions be opportunities for prayer as you prepare to receive The Eucharist. Know that we all fall short and be at peace with it. God did not appoint you to fix everything. But continue to do what you can with grace and dignity and confidence that, in the end, God will fix everything.

Remember, the worst mass ever is better than the best everything else in the universe.

    I'm so proud of you.

    Love, Steve
